The documentary "Roberto Bolaño: el ultimo maldito" focuses mainly on the years that the Chilean author spent in Spain, where he lived a life of austerity, almost poverty. Unlike other South American writers of the literary boom of the 60s and 70s, who became media stars, Bolaño's life is closer to the great cursed writers of the beginning of the 20th century.

This is a portrait of Bolaño's obsessions, his incredible ability to adapt to complicated environments. Bolaño as a literary, but also as a strange character who is creating his own legend. We will show what is true and false in his own autobiography.
