The triumphant journey of FADOS continues

2007.

Since its worldwide premiere in the Toronto Film Festival, in which the public stood up to applaud the musical performances several times, FADOS (Carlos Saura, 2007) has been present at the main film festivals around the world and has become the top box office hit of the year in Portugal.

Sold to over 40 countries, it was described by Hollywood Report as "the musical event of the year". It has been in Rio de Janeiro and Portugal, where its success was obvious, also being well-received in the New York Film Market and in the Portuguese Monstra that recently took place in Madrid. Carlos Saura was accompanied in some of these premieres by Mariza, the best-known voice in the world of the fado, and by other main characters in the film such as Carlos Do Carmo and Camané, who also received long applause by the public at all their concerts.

After Flamenco in 1995 and Tango in 1998 - Oscar nominee for the best foreign language film -, Carlos Saura completed the trilogy on modern urban songs with Fados, in 2007.

FADOS inaugurated the 33rd Latin American Film Festival of Huelva and will soon premiere in Argentina, France, Holland, Korea and Taipei, among other countries.
